Map Shopify discounts to Merchant Center promotions

Symptom

A live Shopify discount never shows as a Merchant Center promotion, so Google cannot surface the offer badge or promotion details.

Exact cause

Google flagged this state because you have an active discount in Shopify that is not configured as a promotion in Google Merchant Center. Without mapping it, Google Shopping will not show the promotional price or badge, and you miss out on higher click-through rates.

This is a cross-system gap: the storefront discount exists, but Merchant Center never got a supported promotion object to review.

2. Create a new promotion that matches your Shopify discount (same type, amount, and conditions).
3. If the discount is a percentage or fixed amount with a promo code, enter the code in the promotion settings.
4. For automatic discounts (no code required), set the promotion to "no code needed."
