StoreSteady ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Caleb Carter. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the StoreSteady website, scanner, and optional Shopify app.

By using StoreSteady, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Public storefront content

When you submit a store URL, we crawl that page and related public pages on your storefront. We collect the content and structured data those pages return publicly.

1.2 Email address

If you request the full report by email, we collect your email address so we can send verification messages, deliver the report, and send transactional updates.

1.3 Optional Shopify app data

If you install the StoreSteady app from your Shopify admin, we collect the product, discount, shipping, and theme data needed to compare your catalog against your public storefront.

1.4 Payment data

If you purchase Pro Scan or Scanner Pro Monthly, Stripe collects and stores your payment method. StoreSteady never receives your full card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.

1.5 Server logs

We collect standard server logs related to your use of the service, including timestamps of scan operations, error logs, and request metadata such as status codes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

•Run the scan you requested

•Generate your findings report, evidence video, and fix brief

•Send verification, receipt, and subscription emails

•Improve scan accuracy using aggregate, anonymized signals

We do not use your information for advertising or unrelated third-party marketing.

3. How We Store Your Information

3.1 Data storage

Your data is stored in PostgreSQL hosted by Supabase, with servers located in the United States. Data is encrypted at rest and protected in transit by TLS 1.2 or higher.

3.2 Authentication credentials

Shopify OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are never logged or shown in any user-facing interface.

3.3 Session management

We use a signed HTTP-only cookie to maintain your session. The cookie contains only the information needed to keep you signed in.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your information. We only share information with service providers that help us operate StoreSteady, including:

•Browserless.io for page rendering of public storefronts

•Stripe for payments

•Supabase and Vercel for infrastructure

•Legal, compliance, or security requests when required by law

5. Data Retention

•Free Snapshot scans are retained for 30 days.

•Free scan accounts and their scan history are retained while the account is active.

•Pro Scan purchases and related report data are retained for 90 days after the access window closes.

•Scanner Pro Monthly subscriber data is retained while the subscription is active and for 90 days after cancellation.

•Server logs are retained for 90 days.

You may request deletion of your data at any time. When you uninstall the Shopify app, we also delete the associated app data according to Shopify's requirements and our deletion process.

6. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting support@storesteady.com.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to support the scanner flow. We do not use advertising cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
